Subject: The Gates
Since the last email blast regarding the gates here is what is happening...
The gates were removed in order to keep the dozens of people who complained
that they were too loud and that they were a threat because they slammed on
them to a minimum. Additionally, the closers that were purchased failed to
work and it was no longer prudent to replace the closers or continue to let
individuals let the hydraulic fluid out of them.
Currently, there is a gate at Fortin Ironworks and they are in the process
of fabricating a closer that will allow the gate to close without slamming
and will withstand the abuse the gates receive. Once this is accomplished
the gates will be reinstalled and then all gates will be repainted.
We understand the concerns of owners and the removal of the gates was NEVER
meant to be permanent. We do not have a definitive timeframe at this point
so we are reluctant to give you a time and not be able to make that
commitment. Fortin has assured us that they are making the resolution to the
problem a priority.
Regards,
The Board of Directors

There are NOT enough parking spots for every unit to have a spot in the parking lot at Victorian Gate. Many times there will not be a place for you to park your vehicle. No one is guaranteed a parking spot unless you own a garage! If you make your own parking spot or park in an area that is not a legal parking spot (between the lines) your car will be towed when Shamrock Towing patrols the lot. Additionally, your towing costs will NOT be reimbursed for any reason if you were parked in a non designated parking area. Please understand that the Board is doing everything in their power to ensure the parking situation is manageable, but Victorian Gate has had difficulty with its parking situation since it was build in the 1990's. At this time there is nothing that can be done to add more parking. As for the Park Street meters, the new time will be from 6 PM to 10 AM beginning December 1, 2006.
